Hi,
Just for the record, I successfully build OOo 1.9.89 for Linux PPC [without Java ]
For the curious, (non-official) builds are available for en-US, de and fr versions (means with french LabOOo splashscreen).
All packages are in .deb format. I only build .deb because .rpm build failed, and I didn't find yet why... :-/
Sure, I'm impatient to see/use Debian version of gcj-4.0, since Java definitively don't work, because j2sdk1.3.1 is no more usable (1.4.x calls in the code, like in wizards... ).
Everything is here : <http://ooo.lab-project.net/~ebachard/Linux_PowerPC/2.0/m89_no_java/>
Of course, they're always some bugs, but it's interessant to test this version.
*Important* : Install everything with dpkg --force-architecture , because of an epm problem (or bad otion in some perl script)....and If you just test m77 (fr only), you'll have to use both --force-architecture and --force-depends options to install it.
Feel free to give me some feedback...if you want other locale, or even .tar.gz in case of your distribution is not Debian... :-)
Regards, eric bachard
P.S. : I'll fill some builds/bugs issues asap. I had not yet the time to do this. Sorry
