Hi,

I'm yet to install Tiger, but from previous knowledge
and what I have read so far about Tiger, have you
specifically installed X11 from the DVD? You require
X11 to be installed to get OpenOffice to run.

The closest there is to a Mac OS X style version of
OpenOffice is NeoOffice.
