what does it mean "rc"? It suggests it is of release quality.

No it doesn't. This servers has always been the more or lesse official Server for Mac OS X builds still in development. Don't know why Stefan Taxhet called the directory MacOSXrc back when the Server was made available. Feel free to ask him and ask for a change of the name.
MacOS X build isn't of that quality yet, so please change the name. It can
cause us only
problems to name something of alpha quality as "release candidate".

I wouldn't call Mac OS X Alpha Quality. If m79 was beta quality for the major plattforms then this Mac OS X build is beyond it. The known issues are only partly caused by OOo - and the big X11 bus is caused by Apple and we're even working on a solution for this. For the 1.1.x series we had builds on this server who were worse in quality then this build.
Eric:

Are the builds labeled Panther? If so, can you rename them for Tiger?
