My build just finished today morning. It was hard work. When using dmake some modules broke but when I switched into them and did a build they build just fine and after a build --deliver or sometimes a deliver -force dmake went on with building full OOo. All in all it took me about 2 days to finish 113 and I guess that about 12h were pure building time. Looks like we are not breaking pavels and Caolans speed records with 1h 19min or 2h and x minutes :-) Ready for work? Web Wizard crashes - patch is on the way but needs some testing once it is available. Base and Impress face the same problems they do on other plattform and in addition possible Mac OS X specific ones. Draw: I haven't tested it yet. Writer: Works just fine and thanks to Tino and his locale patches I have Umlaute and other special chars in filenames etc ppp and when switching to english the launched OOo is english. Cool. Macro Security works and all other security thinks too. Nice work. I wrote my last few DVD reviews with previous milestones and so far Writer crashed once. So Writer seems to be stable for daily use. For daily productive work we would have to do TCM Tests and other heavy tests. Calc: Looks good. But I have limited expierence with it and so a heavy Calc user surely finds bugs I won't. Formular Editor: Works. But again I'm not a heavy user and I don't have tested all the options he gives. Other problems, not really caused by OOo, but waiting for a solution are: Which OS X to use for building? Currently m113 build using Panther runs using Tiger but not in full. On the other hand Tiger build m113 should not been installed and run using Panther. A possible solution would be to create an installer which determines the Mac OS X version used and install the Panther or Tiger specific files. According to Florian Heckl it would be a matter of three libs needing to be Panther/Tiger specific - the rest is "independent". Find a solution for Apple X11 keyboard bug. Even if it does not occure in en-US it is important for Europe and perhaps Asia and other regions. This list doesn't claim to be complete. I'm sure others here may add bugs/other needs they want to have solved. Ready for testing? Always. I personally would really like to announce it to a larger audience of testers and maybe any time soon a first public milestone but here Pavel won't agree with me and from a technical point of view I can understand it but not from a users point of view who wonders why he hasn't heard of OOo 2.0 for Mac OS X for quite a while. So if we announce it to a larger audience of testers we have to make clear - this is *beta* software (or alpha as pavel says) and it isn't ready for daily work. There should be no work done on critical datas using 1.9.xxx for Mac OS X. But first find an agreement on that and which build should be released as official m113? Pavels? Mahos? Eric Bs? Florians? Tinos? Or mine? One of the builds out there we don't know about? The "problem" is that the builders I know use the same cws source but add different patches and that rises the above question, which build is the official one? This answer is my personal point of view. Others can have different ones.
