No no, what follows is not from me ... :-)
I cannot believe that the average Mac user will install XDarwin but
not Apple's X11 (which is already too much for most users anyway...)
But may be there are good reasons for doing so ?
....
I'm using XDarwin from Darwinports...
I can understand. Using #fink channel from time to time, I find a lot of
people, who often advice me to bump X11, and use XFree or XDarwin.
There's even a non free XDarwin version with hardwdare acceleration
available.
The problem we have is to provide an OpenOffice.org always working with
"what" Mac user uses, and this is very diverse.
If XDarwin isn't supported by OOo,
that would be *really* sad: I can't leave my Xdarwin to use X11. Then I
wouldn't be able to use OOo...
If I'm not wrong a fink OOo port is in progress.
Well, you have mine :)
Thank you.
Which lines are in question?
The launcher we are talking about is using an Applescript, initially
written by Terry Teague (someone correct me if I'm wrong). It has been
completely modified by Stephan since. Because I myself proposed a
script, I have in mind the changes in question. Of course, you can
obtain the content in #i42998# and with cvs (I'll commit the last
changes as soon as possible).
launcher's code is in OOo sources, exactly in desktop/macosx/source
directory, and is part of macosx11 cws.
The file containing the script is named "main.applescript " and is a
text file.
What sort of code?
Applescript. Contact me directly if you need more infos.
(I've never read the OOo
launcher code, but IMHO,) checking if your X server is XDarwin or
Apple's X11 wouldn't be *that* difficult.
Of course, The problem is that Apple provided us a non friendly X11
Finally, I'd like to wish myself a "bienvenue" here on this list... It's
actually my first post.
Welcome in the porting land :-)
Regards,
eric bachard
