Eric: Pardon my non-standard web mail viewer....
I agree that you should support whatever we are using. I tried to use XDarwin but gave up. I'm now using X11 provided by Apple on Tiger. I found Kevin's BeginOO.org script in the IZ and will look at it. I think that I'm using Terry's AppleScript but I'm not sure. I'll give the file names at a later time. It does however, seem to 'launch' X11 and then start the soffice script in the directory in which it is placed. I will also look at the IZ you mentioned to see if the script I'm using is there. I can understand. Using #fink channel from time to time, I find a lot of people, who often advice me to bump X11, and use XFree or XDarwin. There's even a non free XDarwin version with hardwdare acceleration available. The problem we have is to provide an OpenOffice.org always working with "what" Mac user uses, and this is very diverse. The launcher we are talking about is using an Applescript, initially written by Terry Teague (someone correct me if I'm wrong). It has been completely modified by Stephan since. Because I myself proposed a script, I have in mind the changes in question. Of course, you can obtain the content in #i42998# and with cvs (I'll commit the last changes as soon as possible). launcher's code is in OOo sources, exactly in desktop/macosx/source directory, and is part of macosx11 cws. The file containing the script is named "main.applescript " and is a text file. What sort of code? Applescript. Contact me directly if you need more infos. (I've never read the OOo > launcher code, but IMHO,) checking if your X server is XDarwin or > Apple's X11 wouldn't be *that* difficult.
