Hi,

James McKenzie a écrit :
I read on the net that Eric B. proposed at OOoCon that the Mac OS X port be moved to Cocoa vice X11.
Great idea and a long time in coming back to being built.

If you read correctly my conf, you're welcome if you want to help us. I know you're trying to implement gcc-4.0x for 1.1.x. It would be interesting to see what type of breakages you meet, because this will probably save us a lot of time for the gcc-4 builds.

  I think the
emphasis to this (and Eric don't be afraid to provide the facts) is that the MacIntel version of MacOSX will not provide X11 support and will provide limited Carbon/Java support.

I really have no clue if X11 will or not be provided by Apple, but what I'am sure is that we cannot continue to use X11.

The positive point is that we have a good 2.0, really. Even using X11.

Just reading something about my conf at OOoCon , I said something maybe wrong :

Doing other complementary tests, drag'n drop works with complex objects like Images + text (at least with m130). Copy-paste with complex objects works too.

-> more investigations have to be done to be sure. Maybe the test I made (non working when I tried) was an exception ?

Actually : X11, OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 and OpenOffice.org 1.9.130 built on Mac OS X Panther install perfectly and are working on Mactel. (no screenshots possible).

Now I have to do more reading. I have a WROX book on building MacOSX

Sorry, what means WROX ?

Regards,
eric bachard
