In fact we're considering a change to XUL for parts of the user
interface. During the last months I did an evaluation of XUL as a
possible long-term VCL replacement (although this is pretty hard to
imagine) and wrote a first prototype in order to simplify the creation
and maintainability of dialogs. You can find my talk and probably the
slides on the OOoCon2005 webpages.

It is your presentation that inspired to talk about XUL here. I really hope that XUL or something similar goes forward in OOo. I'd prefer XUL, because it would make two very successful projects, OOo and Mozilla, contribute to each other, instead of being separate. Both would gain, if people bite the bullet. Of course, it won't be easy. But if walking small steps at a time...
