Sorry for that. We will try to do better next time. Do you think it
would help to add the suggested TCM testing cycles in the Release
roadmap at:http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease204 (as I
started entering translation deadlines)?
I think we need more communication and organization on the different
l10n and QA process that are going on.
See what have been proposed concerning QA and localization on this list
since last weeks
- Andre has introduced new test cases in TCM in order for us to best
coordinate our testtools results, that we need to translate
- He also introduced sanity test cases where he needs our feedback and help,
- Naoyuki introduced a l10n QA test serie on TCM
- Chris Lukasiak introduced new dba test cases that need translation and
participation
- you introduced the Call for action on mnemonics and you need
participation and feedback
It's great to see all this happening, but we need time to organize our
community: explain what it is about, find volunteers, support their work.
About communication, we need to know as soon as you've decided to plane
l10n QA tests. In this way we can prepare a team, explain them quietly
how it will run, etc.
Keep in mind that our contributors are not always the same from a test
session to another. We have a lot of other open tasks in our communities
and they may are engaged elsewhere or simply have no time left for us
this month.
For the next time, would it be possible to be aware of these tests
sooner so that we can organize our team ? one day before the beginning
is impossible, or may be I've missed some mails here.
Could it be also possible that we discuss the time left for the tests
? only one week is really to short, so please consider 2 weeks as a
minimum, especially during this vacation time.
The milestone build we are now targeting is m176. Sorry, but there have
been some issues related to the m175. The m175 should be announced
tomorrow. If one week is too short no problems we can extend it to 2 weeks.
This is about 170 test cases to perform per platform... so yes we need 2
weeks. And we need to know also as soon as possible when you stop on a
milestone to target another one :-)
Kind regards
Sophie
