When I ran testtool, entering the command in the xterm, I didn't see any OpenOffice.org windows that I can remember. The xterm kept saying it was running tests, and what looked like the VCL window would flash up, scroll a lot of output past my eye and disappear again before I could read any of it. Those two things kept happening until the xterm said FINISHED, after only 3 min. 58 sec..
I have the same number of .res files as you, but your .res files have much more content than mine. When I look at the end of each file, e.g. b_updt.res, yours ends with:
