Uh oh, this debate is still raging on.

Hamburg RE considers *known* build breakers on established platforms (and yes, OOo on MACOSX is of course an established platform) as stopper for a CWS. And this is not a new development, we always have so. The only thing which changed from time to time is the "established platform" list.

The real problem is, that many build breaker go unnoticed because the RE team doesn't build on every platform. Tinderbox builds do really help minimizing the possibilities for such build breaker and if a tinderbox status is available it should be consulted. The responsibility lies with the developer, not with the QA team which does not have the means to solve the problem. A little hinting to an especially dreamy developer doesn't hurt, though :-)

Hope that this clarifies the situation a bit
  Heiner

If it is a *known* build-breaker: Sure it is a big issue
If you think so, please attach patches for fix. This is what MacOSX RE team
should do.

See the other post.
So you still say: Mac is a minor platform with less "rights" than the
other ones?
No. I'm not saying so. This is what Hamburg RE team decide, and I cannot.

Where die Hamburg RE decide that? And if so: Why not change the
situation then?

Hence: If there are few anyway: Why is it a problem of dealing with
those few cws that cause major problems?
If you have some problem with MacOSX with some CWS, could you please fix it?
Reporting build issues is not enough.

It should be enough to block integration. Again: If cws owners then
don't know how to fix, they should ask for help. It was only after this
discussion was started that Vladimir approached me on IRC.

If not, report issues to MacOSX porters and developers to ask for fixes.
AFAIK, no fixes are attached for MacOSX in
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=53572

See other post (or the issue itself)
