Hi Clytie,

Issues reported against older versions (<2.4) have lower priority.
What, if an issue was reported at a time a version <2.4 was the actual version and nobody had time till today to confirm it. I can't see a reason why such an issue should have a lower priority?

If the issue still exists, then the priority should not be changed. If the
issue is no longer valid, then the issue should be closed with a WONTFIX. Old
issues should not have their priority changed.
What about older confimed unresolved issues against 2.3.1. If they still be under 3.0 beta should I change the version in the issue tracker to 3.0 Beta? Should the version named in the issue be the one, the issue was found or better the latest version the issue exists in?

The issue should be updated to point out this fact. If a problem was found in
the 1.x stream that still exists in the 3.x stream, the issue should be updated
and if necessary the priority adjusted up but never down. Issues that were
found with 1.x have proven to be more than just simple nusances over time.
Issues need to be tracked and confirmed at each major release to insure that
they are still valid.

I would suggest not to change the 'Version'. If this issue is still valid this should be confirmed in the description. There the additional information should be given in which version this issue has been confirmed. The 'version' setting of the issue should point to version in which the issue has been found initially. If the issue isn't fixed by what reason ever it's more important to know when the issue has been found.

Groetjes,
Olaf
