Hi Lihua,
unlike normal texts in Writer there is no property "background" for
characters and paragraphs in graphic objects. For example, try to
highlight a portion of text in Impress. You will notice that there is no
tool to do so, and if you open the property-dialog, you will notice that
there is no tab "background" for the paragraphs and characters. And as
the property does not exist, an animating effect cannot change it.
You might say, that it is not nice, that an effect is offered, which
makes no sense for the selected thing. But considering the large amount
of effects, multiplied with the number of different graphic objects, I
think, an enhancement in that area is too much effort and not worth.
kind regards
Regina

Hi Regina,
Thank you, Now I see. You selected the text object.
What about you select the texts rather than text object?
I can apply the animation with texts but I can't see any
noticeable change.
Thanks and regards,
Lihua

Hi regina,
Thanks for the information, you said "Change fill color" worked as expected.
May I ask
what happened when you applied "Change fill color"? What is the fill color of texts? Is it the
font color?
No, it is not the color of the text but the color of the background of
the whole object. Changing the color of the text is done with the effect
"Change Font Color". And the effect "Change line" is also not for the
characters, but "Change line" works on the border of the whole object.
"as expected" means, that "Change fill color" changes the background color.
kind regards
Regina

Hi Lihua,

Hi all,
Can "Change fill color" and "Change line color" be used with text?
Select texts and add animation, in emphasis tab, we can choose "Change
fill color" and "Change line color", but we can't see noticeable change
with the texts. While with a draw object, the changes are obvious.
Yes it can be used with a presentation object and with a textbox.
"Change line color" does not work as I expect. If the line is set to
'invisible', then I get a colored hairline by the effect. But when the
line is set to 'continuous' with some color and noticeable width, then
this color do not change, but inside the line some edges get the color,
which I have chosen for the effect.
"Change fill color" works as expected.
kind regards
Regina
