Hi Jörg,
I worked a long time with the Automators team on such a fix - "to make
the Cat0-tests clean for all platforms, environments, languages ..."
I agreed a long time ago with the team, that this cannot be the
solution. It cost too much time. Also nobody can say currently, what is
changed in the office, when you build it in a different environment
(e.g. all system libraries instead of predefined libraries ...) or
in different locales or different platforms and also what functionality
is changed when you are only running the on official OOo build in the
different environment. It is too complex.
Therefore I worked with the team on creating TestBots, which can be used
for general CWS testing with VCLTestTool in an dedicated environment.
When we have such tooling, others can copy it and can use it for L10N
testing or ...
So I think this is the project where we should invest most effort.
Thorsten
PS.: On the other hand it was discussed that we do not have enough test
cases for new functions and we do not find the show stopper issues with
VCLTestTool. I think we need the time here, and we do not need it to
identify the differences in all test environments, which can be possibly
used by the QA project.

Hi Sophie, hi Andre,
thanks for the information. So there seem to be some problems even with
the Cat0-tests. Hopefully it will be possible to improve those of the
Cat0-tests that not yet run reliably, so that we can get at least a
small set of tests that run reliably inside Sun as well as outside Sun.
Regards,
Jörg
