If it is true, OOo should not care about such compromise. I know there
must be some adaptations for each distro.

Yes, usually people don't care about where his/her OOo comes from.
So if bug tracking system is united it would be easy. I belive Ubuntu community
should advocate their uses to use their own bug tracking system. if the 
maintainer
reproduced the error then do upstream report.
