I've done that too (reporting in issue 113088, not spamming!) a couple times, but I doubt it can be effective. As I wrote in the issue, I'd rather start by making it difficult for bots to post spam. Maybe someone could put some CAPTCHA protection on http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Join and on the "Create attachment" page. While being a minor nuisance for legitimate bug reporters, they would at least block some bots.
