Hi Etienne,
Good to see that you have time to invest in Qpid.
It would be nice if you can sketch out a clustering proposal. Maybe Rob
can point you to the Java broker architecture documentation? Rob what's
the current status of the 0.10 Java broker? Do you believe Etienne can
start helping on clustering?

Hi Etienne,
Thanks for contacting us, and welcome. It's great to hear from people who'd
like to get involved.
We have a few items marked as Starter JIRAs which may help you to become
familiar with the existing Java codebase, which would be my recommended
starting point. This would also help you to get accustomed to how we work.
This link gives you a list:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&&pid=12310520&component=12312518&resolution=-1&sorter/field=priority&sorter/order=DESC
Probably best to have a look and then drop the list an email to say which
one you'd be interested in. We have a large list of general JIRAs and you're
welcome to look there too !
Otherwise, have a look at our Java Documentation for more background and
drop us a line with any questions.

Dev docs are linked near the bottom of the list.

Marnie

Dear qpid dev group,
I am a CS Ph.D with experience in distributed computing (clustering
and replication) and a strong java background.
I worked on MOM services replication with the mentoring of Arnaud
Simon, during my Ph.D. years.
Therefore, if needed, Arnaud can be referred to as my reference, I guess :)
After exchanging a few emails with Arnaud, he convinced me to
contribute to the qpid project.
My interests range from clustering (for dependability, i.e.
availability and reliability) to middleware adaptability (i.e.
performance oriented) exploiting control theory applied to informatics
and semantic technologies (I have some research in progress on this
topic).
Arnaud told me that there are plans for the java broker clustering, so
I am wondering if there is some way to contribute to qpid on this
subject.
Luckily enough I'll change job soon, so in the middle of the switch I
could save some time to jump-start into this matter.
Do not hesitate to contact me for any further detail.
Waiting for any news form your side.
Best Regards
Etienne
