At the present time, a WCF channel wouldn't suit my needs as I'm using the .net API with both .Net 2 and .Net 3.5. As far as I know, WCF requires .Net 3.0.
Even without this issue, I'm not experienced enough in WCF to know if it would be a good option versus a classical API. However, I know a few people in the .Net community have expressed some concerns regarding the robustness, testability and scalability of WCF based solutions when doing messaging.
