The 'PN_TRACE_FRM=true' based output goes to stdout directly, it isnt affacted
by log4j configuration. The other option directs the output to your log files
and is affected by your logging configuration (and requires some to work).
Neither of these bits logs the SASL process, so the only thing that should stop
you getting any output at all would be things failing to get past that point,
though your comment is suggesting you did see some, but not much. Again, its
hard to give advice beyond that without some further information (such as what
you say you did see).
