Another implementation is also found in the Python 2.4 standard
library as the Decimal class (which is where I got the idea). I know
Python is released under BSD'ish license, so I would prefer porting
from that instead, that way a later re-licensing to, say SISSL, could
be done if that's desirable.
Hopefully we won't have to worry about the SISSL for long. Simon Phipps
has been talking about switching to the GPL only.
