(some might call it an option, but you won't here me say that word ;-) )
When pasting unformatted text, select "US English" as the column type in
the "Text Import" dialog. For pasting HTML, set the option "Use 'English
(USA)' locale for numbers" in Options - Load/Save - HTML Compatibility.
