But, the question arose because of difficulties pasting numbers that
become transferred to dates.
E.g. pasting 14.60 (measured time in minutes and seconds) will result
in 14-12-07 with the locale Dutch. Changing the locale to English VS
makes that the number stays the same. And the changing the locale back
again ...
Has there ever been thought about a possibility to turn that feature
off (some might call it an option, but you won't here me say that word
;-) )
When pasting unformatted text, select "US English" as the column type in
the "Text Import" dialog. For pasting HTML, set the option "Use 'English
(USA)' locale for numbers" in Options - Load/Save - HTML Compatibility.
Oops. Thought to quick that it was the solution. With that setting:
14.60 becomes 14,60
1:20.12 becomes 01:20,12
73.500 becomes 73,5
03-12-07 becomes 12-03-07
Maybe Leonardo might have it right after al (apart from some wording,
IMHO). Sorry for taking that wrong Leonardo :-)
Pasting without formatting is the solution. Let's see if I can find a
copy of IE somewhere ;-)
Volunteering for fixing the bug is also an option, did I see in the
Mozialla-issuetracker.
Ciao,
