I humbly disagree, and "deserves credit for that" feels more like boasting than providing neutral information (as you happen to have written both pieces of software AND the manual providing the link).
"Deserves credit" is the term I used in an email. It is not necessarily a careful and accurate description of what is said in the SLF4J manual, the text that actually matters most.
Frankly I think you would be best of by plainly mentioning that you wrote both and that *you* think that logback is a good choice (perhaps by listing a number of reasons). Your current approach might be considered sneaky for some, who might even think that if you didn't say THAT up front, what else have you chosen not to mention?
Just read the text in 1325, if that is considered sneaky, then we'll have to agree to disagree. It is beyond me how the text in 1325 can be considered as sneaky.
And again, _I'm_ fine with you giving logback all the credit it deserves. Just be frank about your attitude :)
Frank about my attitude? As mentioned in my previous message, I am uninterested to play the "whiter than snow" game. The "whiter than snow" game is where players, usually high-ranking officials, politicians, members of clergy and religious figures at large, try to live up to *very* high moral standards and somehow eventually end up molesting little children, start needless wars, misuse tax-payers dime for their own gain, or any combination thereof. I am not saying that one should not have moral standards, but that they should be targeted at normal humans-beings, not saints. If 1325 is somehow unpalatable to you, then please propose a new revision. Otherwise, let us move on. -- Ceki Gülcü Logback: The reliable, generic, fast and flexible logging framework for Java. http://logback.qos.ch _______________________________________________ dev mailing list dev@slf4j.org http://www.slf4j.org/mailman/listinfo/dev
