+1, this is a good idea. The more 'layers' we add on top, the more useful this amendment is. Consider that we can have - Sling defaults - application built on top of Sling defaults ( e.g. AEM ) - ITs for AEM Managing all of the overrides in a single configuration is quite hard since we would always need to manually keep in sync with the configurations we override.
