------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-09-30 04:40 -------
Sure the tests do what they should do, the problem is with the owner of the
list whose policy is not quite right. He is trying to dictate how the RFC
should be interpreted, without listening to reason.

Cause: dropping <> mail to postmaster
Resolution: If you lie, accept the e-mail then silently delete it but not tell
us you are deleting, you will get de-listed
If you tell us the truth (about silently dropping it) you will never be de-
listed.

Not even close, the test works fine, the person who maintains the data for the
test is knowingly blocking the good guys and no one seems to care. If any
other RBL started listing the good guys, it would be removed. Why is the RFCI
given special treatment to knowingly list good sites that don't spam while
everyone looks the other way?

If roaringpenguin.com were questionable this would be a non-concern. These
people make anti-spam software is that why everyone here is against them?

It doesn't matter this was for 1.6 points or 1 million points, if someone knows
about a test which is FPing I always thought it was right to put the
information in front of the devs. And if a RBL that we are using starts to
change the way they use their own policy and starts adding the wrong domains,
should this not also be put in front of the devs?

Matus UHLAR - fantomas, maybe you didn't read that thread, maybe you are
friends with RFCI. I had already left this ticket alone when Daniel closed
it. I only respond again because my blood is boiling. And if you think the
white-hats should follow the rfc's, maybe you need to work in the technical
support department for a company where rfc's are enforced, maybe then you will
find out how many whitehats don't have a clue what they are doing.

Most people who send spam are very well educated and know how to setup their
dns and systems better than most of us. They use some nice technology to host
their sites on zombies, they know dns better than a lot of us. If rfci were so
good at stopping spam, it would have a higher score. Maybe its not as helpful
as everyone thinks.

Since this is the first time I noticed rfci has made a questionable decision
like this, I decided it should be brought to our attention as soon as possible.
