How about --lint and --lintwarn or --lint-warn or some such? If you are a
rule builder, it would be good to be able to see complaints about things
like too-long descriptions. If you are merely a rule user, you probably
don't care. Having to run some install test somewhere to check new rules
seems like unnecessary pain.

Normal --lint would only report actual errors. --lint-warn or whatever it
might be called would "lower the reporting level" (whatever that might mean
internally) so that it reported both warnings and errors, as the
current --lint implementation does.
