Ok +1 on the tarballs.
I'm building it now. Seems:
NOTE: the optional Encode::Detect module is installed,
but is not an up-to-date version
I just had to force install it from CPAN. And still gives the same error
message. It had some trouble with Data::Dumper which is current. That
entailed the force install.
perl 5.8.6
I am now running a make test on it. I'll paste that output here in a few.
