+1 for rc2
I think you are actually voting against it with your statements below.
A release candidate *is* the release.
If it is voted yes, the actual release is built from the same code for
the rc with a version change. You can't vote for rc2 + extra stuff [...]
So I'm reading this email as a -1.
Ok, let me put it this way: I'd publish the RC2 as it is and let people
play with it for few days, hoping for some feedback.
Likely my poor wording in the request for a vote coupled with the length
of time since a previous release but rc2 *is* published. You aren't
voting to publish rc2. You're voting to make rc2 the release 3.4.0 or not.
Quite possibly some
other small issue will pop up so we'd have to fix it and prepare a next
RC for the final release. I'd consider the Bug 6945 as one of such issues.
I'm planning for an rc3 and will mark 6945 as a blocker. Working on
blockers. etc.
If it turns out that everybody will be happy with RC2 as it is,
then Bug 6945 can be retargetted to 3.4.1 and I won't complain.
It won't be the only thing calling for an eventual fix, we just
have to make a cut somewhere, otherwise the release will never
happen.
I'm pretty committed to getting 3.4.0 off it's duff and out the door. I
wouldn't worry about that but I will start ignoring small bugs.
I wonder what happened to Plugins/RelayCountry2.pm,
Only reference to it I see is
https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=6599
Apparently I forgot that most RelayCountry.pm already got support
for Geo::IP->GEOIP_COUNTRY_EDITION_V6. Please disregard.
Good. You had me worried!
