I think this feature would really helpful. Few month ago, our company had a
project and we determine to use Phoenix on top of HBase to help us easily
change data storage. Phoenix is extremely easy to use especially for some
members do not have experience on column based nosql database. One of the
problem is phoenix has its data store in hbase in its own format. That bring
some problems to migrate the data. I do think this feature can help on that and
we can save lots of time write our own translator.
