Hi Michael Self-Registration sounds like a useful feature. I think all user that self-register should automatically get a role (self-registerer role) assigned so that the admin can assign some particular right to this group.
How should self-registration look like? The most primitive version (submit username and password and you have your account) could be enhanced with capchca or with email verification. What is the minimum to have a useful first version? If you have a suggestion you're welcome to create an issue.
