The cloning would be useful if we were going to maintain both branches for an indefinite period. Perhaps the underlying question is whether we plan to continue to extend 2.0.x once the 2.1.x release series is in play.
Regardless of whether we are using a wiki as an editor, as to the documentation generally, it would be a good idea to note the first release for a new feature (as of 2.1.0), as well as when significant changes to existing features were made. If no one is itching for another 2.0.x release, then perhaps it's time to declare that the development documentation relates to the 2.1.x head. So, what's still keeping us from a 2.1.0 beta? -Ted.
