I committed this, tweaked to also remove three more functions, in r1091717, and updated the roadmap web page in r1091718. As I said to C-Mike on IRC, "I guess there's no harm deleting it. I guess if it was somebody else's code I'd prefer that it would be deleted." I can easily resurrect as much of it as is useful when the time comes to work on it again. - Julian
