you translate "bogus" with "felaktig", in my opion that is too
strong..."bogus" does not really mean "Error" but something like
"we do not understand what you want". In danish (sorry for that) I
would have called it "ikke forståeligt".
That is actually a translation from the existing version of the file,
not one of my own. Nevertheless, if it is incorrect then it should be
changed, no matter who wrote it.
There are many layers to a translation. We can look up the generally
agreed meaning of the words:
bogus (adjective): false, not real, or not legal
but that is not necessarily the exact information that the author of
the message wanted to convey. Thus we need to look at the context --
within limits, because we mustn't change the (intended) meaning.
In this case it turns out that all uses are in generic error messages
(svn_error_codes.h) and not for any particular error, so they cannot
easily be correlated with specific events. I do believe that
"felaktig" is a fair catch-all translation; it more or less
corresponds to the ones in fr.po (invalide, erroné, fausse), de.po
(ungültig, falsch, fehlerhaft) and nb.po (ugyldig, fiktiv). A possible
alternative Swedish translation would have been "ogiltig".
Again, thanks for looking at my translation. This effort has made me
realise how much time a translator spends in attempting to figure out
what the programmer actually meant, and by consequence how important
clarity is when writing the original text.
