So... I hugely appreciate everyone's help on this list on my endeavor to build SVN for the Synolgoy series of NAS devices.
Deciding that the GUI piece was my next step (recreate what had been already done), I logged into my Synology NAS to take a quick look at the GUI and I was greeted with an upgrade flag. Someone, somewhere packaged the 1.14 version of SVN for Synology, and it is now available for upgrade. (Originally, you could only get the 1.9 version, which is why I decided to give the packaging a shot myself). It seems that my end-goal has been achieved. I wonder who did the packaging, I myself was never able to find out the group/person who was doing the Synology SVN packages. I gained some keen insight into how Linux works and I'm currently now using both Ubuntu VM's and one of my laptops now supports Linux Mint for everyday use. Thanks again.
