Last night I found a number of other useful rxvt patches scattered around the net and applied them. Many were for older versions and had to be ported, so it took some work. Here is the updated archive with all the new patches, install script, etc. Extract this into its own directory along with rxvt-unicode-9.31.tar.gz, inspect all patches, etc, then run build-rxvt to install it.
There is an option you can enable in the script to enable per-pixel window resizing, if you need that for your tiling window manager, to avoid ugly gaps around window edges. Also included are the terminfo files for rxvt-unicode-256color, so that everything will look right in ncurses apps, etc. You can also use TERM=rxvt-256color if needed as a fallback if some hosts you're remoting into don't have rxvt-unicode terminfo.
