Dear Dave,

First and foremost, I appreciate your passion and evangelism for rxvt.
You're certainly welcome to explain why you prefer rxvt-unicode and to
share your patches. This mailing list aims to distil knowledge by
maintaining a strict focus on the technical aspects. However, I think
you weaken your argument by using such loaded language. I am not
swayed by your value judgements and I doubt others are too; if rxvt is
the saviour you proclaim it to be, then the technical case for it
alone should be enough to convince. Anything outside of that in my
eyes isn't constructive.

Live and let live. Use the terminal you prefer, and -- provided you do
so cordially -- you will always be welcome to explain its advantages
if you so choose. Let everyone pick their poison. A lot of this debate
depends on individual priorities and software philosophy. I'm sure
rxvt is a capable terminal for your use case and is likely an apt tool
for the job. Likewise, st has its merits for those who have other
priorities in mind.

Yours,
Nick.
