HI Frank,
Is there any chance that the issue be solved before 2.0 release candidates?
On the other hand, I did not file any issue concerning this, so I will
try to do it and cc you and hdu. Is it alright?
Cheers
Fridrich

I tried to fix this issue by inserting at the beginning of every span
a control character left-to-right-override (Unicode number 0x202d).
This in effect forces the LTR rendering, but...
... As you can see from the documents in
http://hei.unige.ch/~strba5/Smokey/ , the control characters are
displayed on my Fedora Core 4 build of m108. (The documents are
converted by a stock ooo with cws fs01 and fs02 integrated). On the
debian build of m108, the characters are displayed as blank space of
the width of a normal character.
that should not happen. LRO is a non-printable character and should not
be shown in the document. I'll discuss this with HDU when he's back from
vacation.
Regards,
Frank
