It's not like we're going to run out of numbers :-) We're working in the context of the Apache Ethic that we vote on the exact binaries that we "ship". The version number gets embedded in a number of places, so whether we call it 5.0.9rc2 or 5.0.10, it's still necessary to generate a new set of binaries.
