Instead of using up lots of version numbers, would it be practical/
worthwhile in future to tag or branch as release candidates? For
instance, tag or branch as 5.0.9RC1, 5.0.9RC2, etc. If a Release
Candidate is accepted then you branch off it as 5.0.9 to lock it in.
