Yes, splitting up and managing multiple git repos is a good option for the
future.
Merge back things like thriftpy or fbthrift into dedicated repos such as
thrift-python, thrift-java, etc would be beneficial.
I guess the plugin concept for the compiler is a good starting point towards
real modularization.
@nsuke made a fantastic first step into a plugin mechanism and the description
of thrift via thrift

We can split up as soon as we are able to manage what we have to do
first(pending issues and bugs, review, document, commit) in a fast way. It
might end up in complicated repo handling and issues with cross language test
suite etc. if we switch just now...
