normal ASF committers are not DOAP experts, nor projects.a.o experts: all the flexibility is an additional hurdle for them to "just do it" ATR "Create a Sub-project" feature is a de-facto the "just do it" project description creation UI: - very nice for simplicity = what committees need - currently not so nice for reuse beyond ATR it is just lacking the small additional help committees need to store their descriptor and add it to the projects feed in parallel to ATR approach to easy projects on-boarding, I'm trying to ease the projects.a.o tooling for it = https://projects.apache.org/create.html defining an easy storage location for users, as a no-brainer "just do it", is finally what IMHO is the missing part -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
