   From @raboof in #384, which I've closed as a very near duplicate of this:

`apache-foo-2.0.0-M1-src-20251202.tar.gz`, I think it would be nice to still 
allow `apache-foo-2.0.0-M1` as the root directory. This directory naming is 
consistent with unix tradition, and it hopefully means you can fully recreate 
the .tar.gz from the sources without having to pass in the 'correct' date 
through some side channel.
