See http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=24588

Fascinating! - and disturbing. I had no idea open source OOo had components that depended on a commercial distribution.

I see the mingw build page
(http://tools.openoffice.org/dev_docs/build_windows_mingw.html)
declares that this is only experimental, only works with 645 builds, and still requires other non-gnu executables to operate (like masm), although Tono has stated he has started on a 680 build.

Are there any plans to free the OOo trunk from MS commercial tools, allowing OOo to be truly open source on Windows? Are there any reasons why the mingw 645 build modification weren't integrated?
