Hi Curtis,

I should add that Takashi Ono already made big progress with the mingw port, with the help of - I think - Kazunari Hirano, Volker Quetschke, Ken Foskey (maybe others?), so it could be that there is a mingw port in the forseeable future. I think he was able to create working installations sets (is this true?) which would means that he got along a long way of the port.

From what I've gathered so far, he's created a finicky but successful 645 build using mingw gcc. It still needs all the other MS tools. The necessary OOo source patch files and mingw headers are available on the issue #24588 page. I'm going to give this a try in a few days.

There was also a message that he had started work on a 680 build in January. I emailed him about the status and challenges of this, but I haven't received a reply yet.
