I just applied 20050905 and confirmed that the test script
(tcsh_hang.csh) did not hang on it. However, my problem still stays.
It was a try ;)

With '-f' flag, dmake did not go forward.
The -f massively speeds up tcsh so you're most propably triggering
a race somewhere in cygwin.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it with my two systems, so you're
on your own.

It would be nice if you would find a short testcase to trigger this
problem. With this info the cygwin guys fix a problem very fast.

bash> source winenv.set.sh
bash> dmake
[hang]

At this point, I checked task manager and found two tcsh.exe. When I
killed one of them (which use bigger memory), the build seemed to go
on but stopped at 'extras/source/autotext/lang' module, and ended up
with four tcsh.exe. This is reproducible for me. Is this observation
helpful to figure out the situation?

Not really. Can you try to start the build with:
$ cd instsetoo_native
$ build --all
instead and see if it also hangs imediately. We need to find a
reproducible hang with a small testcase.

By the way, I restarted my build without '-f' flag and it is going good so far.
That is like running on 1/2 power.
