Do you have a canonical place for UNO packages ?

ie can someone do something like :
1. add new uno sources to canonical place
2. remove cache directory contents
3. execute command that will regenerate it _without_ providing new UNO sources (this part is crucial - if you need to provide sources every time that means every extension package has to know the full installation history)

Yes. Of course not if someone removed everything from the canonical
place. :-)

Well you're allowed to checksum/sign the files in the canonical place, so this can be detected. Since oo.o does its own thing in the cache, the system can not trust its content - it's probably a good idea to regenerate it routinely at each extension installation (depends on regeneration time and extension installation average schedule)

If regeneration is too heavy it should at least be possible to force regenerating the cache associated to a particular package.
