sound like you may obtain a new Developer's Guide ;-).
The current Developer's Guide talks still about /applicat.rdb/.

I looked at the one that come with the SDK which can be obtained from 
http://download.openoffice.org/680/sdk.html ... seems the one published 
on OOo isn't exactly what one would call uptodate ;-)
