Another case could be sending a binary form including a TSI to a remote service
where the source system declares types that are to be merged with those at the
remote system. E.g. source system X knows types A, B, C. Intermediate system Y
knows A and D. Final target system should receive a representation from Y which
contains A, B, C and D. So Y needs to merge the TS information from X with its
own.
