Very important. If we hid the download link we might conclude that no one is interested in downloading. :-) There's a joke about this. A scientist decides to make a complete catalog of marine life. He grabs a net with squares 10cm x 10cm, and goes around the world's oceans grabbing specimens. After many years of research he concludes that in the ocean there's nothing smaller than 10cm in diameter. :-) > > * Center: There is a large gap in the center of the page. > Is it possibly a problem with yoru browser ? "Comming Events" and "Media Attention" are examples where a collapsible menu would be good. "Resources" and "About the product" are menus that I think should not be collappsed by default. > > Licenses has to stay uncollapsed on the page but should be > > moved to the left. Licenses absolutely does not have to stay uncollapsed. This is neither a legal requirement, nor a usability requirement. You an say that you'd *like* to have it visible, and provide reasons why it is important enough to take away space from something else. But refer to it as a requirement unless it really is. > > I like the Report a Bug. :-) and have mixed feelings about What's > > new... That's because it's not really about What's new. Why not linked from About Us? ... possibly because it's so prevalent on the present page. Consider the 10cm joke above. :-) A good usability test is that if you're surprised that xyz destination is "popular", consider that a lot of users were sent to the wrong place. I don't see a lot of new projects poping up, except for the NLC. > +1 for reintroducing "About us" in the "general links" section. I vote for being careful with adding anything. Treat space on the home page as a limited resource. What are you willing to remove to make room for the "About us" link?
