Alright, inspired by Matthew's great ideas in his Mach5 page, but bringing back some things from the Mach4, I'd like to suggest this:
http://www.math.umd.edu/~dcarrera/openoffice/website/HomePage5/ Compared to Matthew's Mach5, this is what I did: * Added "Resources" to the left bar. * Added colappsed boxes for CommingEvents and MediaAttention. * Shortened the NLC text. Now it says "visit your language community". * Put the XHTML/CSS/WAI icons in a column. * Added some colour to the "OpenOffice.org" text. Only the first 3 are really significant. The last two are just cutesy thingies. Notice that I *did* *not* put "For Developers" and "About the Product" in there. So, this really is something between Matthew's 4 and 5. I think it's a good compromise. Furthermore, it maintains the 2-column layout, which is what made 5 so interesting (IMO). I don't know how to make the CommingEvents and MediaAttention collapse/uncollapse, but you get the idea. What do you think?
